At this time we do not process firearm sales through this web site. Please call or email us to place an order - we typically have a few silhouette rifles in stock.
The CPA Silhouette and Long Range rifles are available in a variety of calibers and stock configurations with barrels 30" to 34" long. The Silhouette rifle is designed to meet the NRA's BPCR rules with a low comb and weight limit of 12 pounds 2 ounces. The Long Range rifle has a high comb and typically has a heavy barrel. We will contact you to confirm specifications and pricing for your rifle.
Approved for Black Powder Cartridge Rifle (BPCR) competition by the NRA, the silhouette rifle typically has either a sporting style stock with low comb (shown here) or the Model 52 style with more drop, and is available in either right or left hand style. Wood used for the stock is lightly figured walnut finished with a closed pore finish, though it is also available either sanded ready to finish or unfinished but fitted. The bottom of the pistol grip has the classic "S" shape on the bottom of the pistol grip. The black rubber buttplate is shotgun style to minimize recoil, and has the Stevens logo. Checkered steel buttplates and Pachmayr recoil pads are available. The action normally has a ball and spur (without wood insert) lever and double set triggers.
Standard barrels for silhouette rifles are Douglas XX premium barrels, though other barrels are available upon request. Calibers available include 38-55, .40-65 Winchester, .45-70 and others. A popular option is a .22LR barrel for use in practice or for indoor matches. The standard barrel is a #4 part octagon style which is 30" long, weighing about 11 ½ pounds; longer barrels up to 34" long are available at no extra charge. Other barrel weights and styles are available as described for the Schuetzen rifle – a #3 size barrel will weigh about one pound less. A front sight slot is provided, as are tang sight holes. The barrel normally is drilled and tapped for scope bases; these holes can be omitted if desired.
Sights are not included, but we can install them for you. A globe front sight can be fitted into the 3/8" slot provided on this model. This sight should be typical of the period as specified in NRA rule 3.4. Likewise, the rear sight must meet this rule, which does not permit the use of click adjustable windage or elevation. The rear (tang) sight is attached to the top tang with 5-40 screws which are factory standard, and the hole spacing is also factory standard. We stock sights from MVA, Mechanical Accuracy (Steve Baldwin) and a few others.
The rifle is made to the NRA weight restriction, and meets all applicable rules. FFL Required for shipment.
