THIS FOREARM WILL NOT FIT MODERN REPRODUCTIONS OF THE WINCHESTER 1885. IF YOUR RIFLE IS LESS THAN 100 YEARS OLD, DO NOT PURCHASE THIS ITEM. Exceptions include the C. Sharps 1885 Highwall and the MVA/VME Model 1885 Single Shot which are faithful replicas, and the Uberti 1885 High Wall which is close enough it can be made to fit with minor modifications.

Standard schnable tip forearm for Winchester 1885 high wall single shot rifles without the ebony insert in the tip. Length is 10" long and attaching screw hole is 6.12" from the frame. The channel is inlet for the flat spring. We leave these forearms slightly long in the back and do not inlet for the flange at the front of the frame - this must be fit by hand.

Winchester forearm mounting hardware is available.

Be sure to enter the shape of your barrel as well as the diameter at the frame and at the end of the forearm. Please also note requests such as a special location for the attaching hole. In most cases we cannot make forearms without attaching holes.

Forearms are 98% shaped and inlet.  Forearms are typically left 1/8" long so you can trim it for an exact fit.  Channels are generally cut within .010" and about .060" extra wood is left on outside surface for final sanding.
